Trump denies report he asked for US attorney to un-recuse from Cohen case: 'No, I don’t know who gave you that'

President Donald Trump on Tuesday denied a report that he had enquired about whether a U.S. attorney could un-recuse himself in a case against former Trump attorney Michael Cohen.

During a Oval Office ceremony for the Space Force, Trump was asked about a a story in The New York Times, which reported that the president had asked then-acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker if U.S. Attorney for the Southern District Geoffrey S. Berman could reverse his own recusal in the Cohen case.

“No, I don’t know who gave you that," the president replied, dismissing the claim, according to a pool report.
