Trump judge bars sharing of any evidence in classified documents case

A Florida judge ordered Donald Trump's defense lawyers not to release any evidence related to the classified documents case to the media or the public, The Guardian reported.

US magistrate judge Bruce Reinhart on Monday agreed with prosecutors who wanted the court to restrict how the defense handles the evidence.

“Discovery materials, along with any information derived therefrom, shall not be disclosed to the public or the news media, or disseminated on any news or social media platform, without prior notice to and consent of the United States or approval of the Court,” Reinhart's order read.

The order also said that Trump “shall not retain copies” and that he can only view evidence related to the case “under the direct supervision of defense counsel or a member of defense counsel’s staff.”

“The restrictions set forth in this Order do not apply to documents that are or become part of the public court record, nor do the restrictions in this Order limit Defense Counsel in the use of the materials in judicial proceedings in this case, except as described above,” the order noted.
