Trump doubles down on demanding apology from ABC in wake of Roseanne firing

President Donald Trump on Thursday doubled down on his demand that ABC give him a personal apology for all the times its employees have purportedly insulted him.

"Iger, where is my call of apology?" Trump demanded. "You and ABC have offended millions of people, and they demand a response. How is Brian Ross doing? He tanked the market with an ABC lie, yet no apology. Double Standard!"

Trump's first demand for an apology came after he learned that Disney CEO Bob Iger had called former Obama White House aide Valerie Jarrett to apologize to her after ABC sitcom star Roseanne Barr said that she looked like an ape.

“Bob Iger of ABC called Valerie Jarrett to let her know that ‘ABC does not tolerate comments like those’ made by Roseanne Barr,” Trump wrote on Wednesday. “Gee, he never called President Donald J. Trump to apologize for the HORRIBLE statements made and said about me on ABC. Maybe I just didn’t get the call?”

Trump still has not specified what “HORRIBLE” statements were made on ABC about him, although there are no known instances of the president being called a racial slur on any ABC News programs.

The White House on Tuesday suggested that Trump would refrain from commenting on the cancellation of Roseanne’s show, as he was purportedly busy preparing for the North Korea summit that may happen next month.
