CNN’s Abby Phillip went head-to-head with Trump donor and fundraiser Hal Lambert as she ripped apart his claims surrounding immigration law and due process.
The fiery on-air exchange unfolded Wednesday night on Phillip’s show, “NewsNight,” as Lambert argued that President Donald Trump is legally allowed to deport millions of undocumented immigrants without due process.
But the CNN host quickly rejected his premise.
“The reason I keep pushing back Hal is because that is not true!” Phillip said after Lambert claimed immigrants don’t have to see a judge.
“How do you put 12 million people before an administrative judge?” Lambert replied. “You can’t.”
“Yes you can,” Phillip fired back as she chuckled.

That’s when Democratic strategist Julie Roginsky jumped and insisted that immigrants “are owed due process just like everybody else on American soil.”
“The problem is that this is, of course, political,” Roginsky said. “The reason that Stephen Miller is saying that they're going to suspend habeas corpus if the judges don't do what they want, the reason Steve Bannon said they're going to suspend habeas corpus, is because they're going to suspend habeas corpus."
She added: “And the judges are not going to be able to do anything about it, because what can they possibly do? What army do they have to stop this?”
