Damning new polling revealed Monday that the vast majority of the country believes the federal government is deliberately withholding explosive information about the Jeffrey Epstein case.
The CNN/SSRS survey found a whopping two-thirds of Americans believe Washington is intentionally sitting on files that should see the light of day. Just16% believe the government is actually trying to release everything.
The Justice Department admitted earlier this month that it has released less than 1% of its Epstein files despite Congress giving officials a Dec. 19 deadline to come clean. Now they're scrambling, bringing in 80 additional attorneys to play catch-up.
Satisfaction levels are rock bottom, as just 6% of Americans say they're happy with what's been released. Meanwhile, a 49% plurality are dissatisfied.
Nearly 9 in 10 Democrats smell a cover-up, along with 72% of independents. Even 42% of Republicans aren't buying the government's story.
Democrats have grown increasingly frustrated, with 71% now expressing dissatisfaction compared to 56% over the summer. Republicans, meanwhile, are moving in the opposite direction, with two-thirds now saying the whole thing doesn't even matter.
