'Corporate death penalty': Legal expert says Trump sons' testimony has sealed fate

A legal expert predicts the Trump Organization will get the "corporate death penalty" at the conclusion of a New York fraud trial.

CNN legal analyst Norm Eisen said he's seen enough evidence to show the former president and his sons showed reckless disregard for the accuracy of their financial statements – which he said proves intent to commit fraud.

"Don Jr. admissions in the NY civil fraud case today were…wow," Eisen tweeted. "He basically admitted reckless disregard for false info — proves intent. He also threw his bro & his dad under the bus at points."

"The legal wrangling will go for a while but end game is clear: corporate death penalty," Eisen added.

The Brookings Institute senior fellow said prosecutors had already shown "a ton of evidence" that financial statements were inaccurate, and he said testimony from Trump Jr. and Eric Trump showed they were involved in approving those false declarations.

"Now Eric is getting hammered as well," Eisen said. "Denies involvement in the financial statements. Immediately hit with emails to contrary."

Donald Trump is expected to testify next week in the $250 million fraud lawsuit brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James. His eldest daughter Ivanka is scheduled to take the stand a few days later.
