Fox News hosts gush over Trump coif in odd display: ‘Magnificent dome of orange’

The cast of Fox News’ “Fox & Friends Weekend” dedicated a segment Sunday morning to gush over President Donald Trump’s hair, while also insisting “the left” was furious with the president’s “great hair day” in a fawning display.

“So Trump has a great hair day, and the left goes absolutely berserk!” said Fox News’ Charles Hurt. “So Trump gave a speech last week and had a magnificent dome of orange hair, and, uh... obviously the left, they can't get enough of hating this guy.”

While speaking in Las Vegas, Nevada last week, onlookers noted Trump appeared to be sporting more hair than usual, and hair that was a slightly different color, sparking a flurry of speculation. The president’s new hairdo also sparked a wave of online “hair memes” in which Trump’s hair was compared to hamsters, among other things – online posts that the hosts of “Fox & Friends Weekend” took as attacks from “the left.”

“It's [Trump Derangement Syndrome] gone mad!” said conservative commentator Mitch Roschelle. “Have they completely run out of material that now the only thing they can focus on is his hair? I mean, it's so vapid, the hatred that they have for Donald Trump, but god bless him, he does have great hair!”

Speculation about Trump's hair has circulated for decades, tied to reporting on a 1989 scalp reduction surgery detailed in Harry Hurt III's 1993 biography, Lost Tycoon: The Many Lives of Donald J. Trump. According to that reporting, Trump's then-wife Ivana testified in a 1990 divorce deposition that he was in significant pain following the procedure.

Dermatologic surgeon Dr. Gary Linkov has separately told Newsweek that photos of Trump over the decades are consistent with multiple hair restoration procedures, including possible plug grafts, a rotational flap surgery and follicular unit transplantation, based on visual analysis of Trump's hairline and scarring.
