The woman who came in second to Donald Trump in the Republican presidential primary in 2024 had a rare moment of public disagreement with the president-elect on Saturday.
Trump defeated Nikki Haley, who worked in his first administration as an ambassador, but it was rumored that bad blood still existed between them. When Trump beat Vice President Kamala Harris in the general election, he immediately and publicly announced that Haley wouldn't work for him again.
More recently, Trump has spoken out in favor of pausing a potential ban on Tik Tok, specifically suggesting he wants it around because he has a strong social media presence on the site.

Haley disagreed with that assessment over the weekend, saying, "If the Tik Tok ban is reversed, with the Chinese Communist Party still in control of it, it will be the first of many wins for China."
"Reminder this Chinese app is banned in China. Why would we allow this app in the US knowing that?" she then asked. "India banned Tik Tok due to the social disruption it was causing. We can’t cave when it comes to America’s national security."
Although she didn't mention Trump's name, numerous commenters brought up the former and incoming president.
Country music singer Mike McCarroll said, "Well the guy you supported has no problem with it since they gave him money."
"You lost all credibility by kissing his ring," he added on Saturday.
PatriotTakes, which says it is dedicated to "researching and monitoring" right-wing extremism "and other threats to democracy," has previously flagged purportedly offensive statements from Trump and Republicans on social media. On Saturday, the group highlighted Haley's statement.
"Nikki Haley comes out against Trump’s plan to save TikTok, but won’t mention him by name," they wrote on X.
