President Donald Trump debased his office when he lost control and flipped the bird at a heckler in Detroit who called him a "pedophile protector," MS NOW anchor and former Republican National Committee chief Michael Steele observed in a discussion with Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) on Tuesday's edition of "The Weeknight."
"So we all know we have avery, in my estimation, a veryunderdeveloped man sitting in the White House," said Steele to Khanna, one of the main sponsors of legislation to compel the White House to release the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking case files, which have still not been released in full despite legal deadlines.
"That wasjust a punkish move," Steele continued. "I don'tknow who he thinks he wasimpressing. I guess it's moreimpressive if the President ofthe United States flips you off.But put your big boy pants on,Mr. President, the country is abig country, and we haveopinions. We have opinionsabout you. We have opinionsabout your actions. So that'sall I want to say about that."
Furthermore, Steele added, "The fact that the White Houseresponse was 'a lunatic waswildly screaming expletives ina complete fit of rage,' theiroverdramatization of stuff isanother bit of crap we have toput up with."
"Look, it's not a coincidenceof what sets him off," said Khanna. "What sethim off is the heckler sayingyou're a protector. I was juston a podcast with Shawn Ryan.Shawn Ryan is the number twopodcaster in the country. Hewas all in on Trump, and hesaid, what lost [him] is Trump is protecting — that's what thisEpstein issue is about. It hasgotten under his skin becausehe knows he's losing the MAGAbase on this. He was elected toexpose the corruption, to holdthese people accountable.Instead, every move they madeis to protect people who rapedunderage girls."
"And now youhave, today, a federal judge whoresponded to Marcy and mymotion, quite a breakthrough,where he's now ordered theDepartment of Justice to briefhim on whether he shouldappoint a special master toactually get these documentsreleased," said Khanna.
