'Illegal and unethical': Analyst flags evidence Trump shared 'confidential info'

Donald Trump may have broken the law by hinting at confidential information via his social media, according to an economist and professor.

Trump on Wednesday evening took to Truth Social to attack a man who Trump himself appointed to his position as the Fed chair: Jerome Powell.

“'Too Late' should resign immediately!!!" Trump wrote, quoting a Bloomberg article that's titled, "Fed Chair Should Be Investigated by Congress, FHFA Head Says."

Trump was referring to Federal Reserve Chairman Powell, and the timing was suspicious to some, including Justin Wolfers, a noted economist.

Wolfers took to social media, saying, "No-one knows what anything means anymore, but... Trump called for the resignation of Fed Chair Jay Powell around the time you might expect his staff to have shown him a preview of tomorrow's jobs numbers."

"It would be illegal and unethical to even hint at such confidential info, but... y'know..." the expert added.
