Celebrities are part of the fun of the traditionally monotonous Washington, DC inauguration ceremonies. For a town that runs on policy and politics, a Beyoncé or Lady Gaga sighting can make standing in the cold for hours that much more exciting.
The inaugural committee for President-Elect Donald Trump is having a hard time finding someone willing to perform, however, the UK Independent reported.
Trump transition team member Anthony Scaramucci said in an interview with the BBC that in an effort to show Trump supports LGBT people, Elton John would play. John said he wouldn't.
“I’m not a Republican in a million years,” John said when Trump used his song "Tiny Dancer" for a campaign rally, “why not ask Ted f*cking Nugent?”
Vince Neil, vocalist for heavy metal band Mötley Crüe also dropped out of Trump's inaugural, after previously being announced he would play. The Rolling Stones also refused. Trump frequently used The Stone's song "You Can't Always Get What You Want," despite repeated requests for him to stop.
