Biden and his campaign are treating the Trump indictments 'like Voldemort': NYT

President Joe Biden is keeping his lips sealed when it comes to talking about the criminal indictments of his prospective Republican rival, former President Donald Trump.

And the New York Times reports that's no accident, as Biden and his campaign are treating the criminal charges against Trump "like Voldemort — avoiding, at all costs, any mention of the indictments that must not be named."

Instead, the campaign has made policy-based critiques of its Republicans, such as Trump's promise to bring manufacturing jobs to Wisconsin or Sen. Tommy Tuberville's (R-AL) blockade of military promotions.

The reason for this is simple, reports the Times: "Biden has said he won’t comment on investigations into and charges against Mr. Trump — a reflection of his clear desire not to be seen as intruding on Justice Department independence, as well as the political imperative of deflecting Republicans’ relentless, evidence-free accusations that he is the hidden hand behind the prosecutions."

While Trump has been indicted by special counsel Jack Smith, who was appointed by Biden administration Attorney General Merrick Garland, he has also been indicted by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg for his role in facilitating hush-money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels.

Trump also faces the prospect of being indicted in a third jurisdiction, as Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis prepares to reveal whether she's bringing charges against Trump for his efforts to overturn his loss in Georgia to President Joe Biden.
