One of President Donald Trump's former national security advisors made a staggering prediction about the president's latest threat to destroy Iran's "civilization" if a deal to end the war is not reached.
On Tuesday morning, Trump posted on Truth Social that a "whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again" if Iran does not agree to a deal to end the war. The threat follows Trump's previous statement that he plans to attack civilian infrastructure like bridges and water systems.
John Bolton, Trump's former national security advisor during his first term, discussed Trump's threat with CNN's Jake Tapper on "The Lead." Bolton offered a staggering prediction for what Trump will do if Iran doesn't agree to a deal by Tuesday night's deadline.
"I have no idea [what he will do]. I'm not evensure Trump knows," Bolton said. "I'll hazard aguess for what it's worth. Ithink he will order a strike.It'll be big, but not whathe's been talking about. He'llsay, 'This is just a taste of whatI could have done, but out ofthe goodness of my heart, Ididn't destroy Iran'scivilization. They've got sevenmore days.' He'sgoing to try and have it bothways, basically."
