Trump rants that Hamas' attack caused by his loss in 'rigged' 2020 election
October 13, 2023
Donald Trump blamed the Hamas attack on Israel on his 2020 election loss in a Friday morning rant – and turned the "big and dangerous" situation into a campaign promotion.
The former president insisted in an all-caps post that the last presidential election was "rigged" against him and claimed that he could solve the crisis if he was president.
"The attack on Israel would never have happened, zero chance, if the election of 2020 was not rigged and stollen," he said on Truth Social, misspelling "stolen" as he often does. "It shows the world how important elections are. Iran was broke and talking, now they are rich and watching, waiting to make their move, and it will be a big one!"
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?
Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has said there was no "direct evidence" that Iran was involved in the brutal assault on Israel last week but conceded "Hamas wouldn’t be Hamas" without that country's support.
"How could crooked Joe Biden, the worst and most incompetent in the history of the United States, allow this to happen?" Trump said. "We went from the Abraham Accords and peace, to unprecedented death and destruction. Nevertheless, this big and very dangerous problem is solvable. Make America great again!!!"
Trump has drawn widespread condemnation for criticizing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, apparently for praising Biden's response to the assault, and the former president praising Hezbollah as "very smart" after that Lebanese militant group staged followup attacks on Israel.
