President Donald Trump once again posted a controversial AI-generated, religious themed image of himself on Wednesday — this time an image of Jesus Christ embracing him, with a supporter proclaiming he might be "God's Trump card."
This comes just days after even many of his own supporters called him out for blasphemy over an image of himself as Jesus — which he claimed he didn't realize and thought it depicted himself as a doctor — as well as picking a fight with Pope Leo XIV for criticizing the war in Iran.
The sight of Trump kicking the hornet's nest yet again drew a swift reaction from commenters on social media.
"I don't think Trump learned his lesson since he just shared another Jesus/Trump image," wrote author April Ajoy.
"Trump is posting fresh blasphemies this morning," wrote liberal reporter Aaron Rupar — to which former Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-VA) replied, "Dr Trump to you @atrupar!"
"It’s a good thing we can see both of Jesus’s hands in this photo," wrote author and Moms Demand Action founder Shannon Watts.
"Trump just can’t let it go. He is deranged," wrote author and nonprofit leader Amy Siskind.
"Following another late night tweet storm, Trump wakes up to immediately post a meme about how he is God's chosen one," wrote former GOP strategist Tim Miller.
"Those who try to avoid fully chastising his blasphemy by saying he didn’t mean it will likely find that he’s going to keep doubling down," wrote author Jennifer Erin Valent. "I’m afraid his intention is to force you to choose between him and God, confident you’ll choose him. I wish I felt more certain he’s wrong."
