Donald Trump and Speaker Mike Johnson to hold 'election integrity' press conference
April 10, 2024
Former President Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, will reportedly hold a press conference with Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) about election fraud.
The press conference, scheduled for Friday, was first reported by CNN. A source told the network that the event would focus on "election integrity."
"One source said the plans were still fluid and could change," the CNN report noted.

Axios concluded that the press conference was important because "Johnson is brandishing his ties to Trump – and hammering on a pet issue for the right-wing grassroots – as one of the ex-president's closest allies Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) is threatening to try to topple the speaker."
Trump has falsely contended that there was widespread fraud in the 2020 presidential election and has used the term "election integrity" to reinforce his message.
