Trump Jr. posts Photoshopped picture of his dad awarding Kyle Rittenhouse the Medal of Freedom
November 22, 2021
Donald Trump Jr. on Monday posted a Photostopped picture on his Instagram account depicting his father awarding Kyle Rittenhouse a Presidential Medal of Freedom.
In the post, Trump Jr. wrote a caption that simply said, "2024??? Who knows?"
Trump Jr. is one of many high-profile Republicans to not merely say that Rittenhouse deserved to be acquitted, but that he actually deserves praise for shooting two demonstrators in Kenosha, Wisconsin last year.
Reps. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) and Paul Gosar (R-AZ) have all offered Rittenhouse congressional internships.
Rittenhouse's defense attorney, Mark Richards, has urged his former client to take a cautious approach and he told Fox News on Monday that he hopes Rittenhouse stays out of politics.
"I think there's a lot of people who want to use Kyle," Richards told Fox News host Martha MacCallum. "I think the way the Rittenhouse name has trended on Twitter -- and that's what we live in is a Twitter society -- people want to use his name, get it out there so they can get some publicity. I think it's cheap."
