Pro-Trump lawyer Rogan O'Handley, who goes by the pseudoym "DC Draino," took to X on Tuesday to imply that South Park parodies are responsible for the shootings of prominent Republicans.
"I hope the @SouthPark guys are doing some soul searching right now," wrote Draino. "They stayed quiet for 4 years about the absolute clown show that was Joe Biden; Yet the 2 biggest people they’ve demonized - President Trump & Charlie Kirk - were both shot; I wonder if they realize they’ve become part of the problem in this country."
There is no evidence that either shooting was inspired by South Park.
Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the creators of South Park, are libertarians who generally have contempt for both major U.S. political parties and have attacked Democrats frequently in the past, before their new relentless series of episodes making fun of President Donald Trump.
However, former President Joe Biden rarely featured on the show — likely, as Cracked noted, because there just weren't many episodes that came out during the Biden years, but it has nonetheless become a focus point for MAGA conspiracy theories.
In the wake of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk's slaying at Utah Valley University earlier this month, some Republican lawmakers and commentators have sought to blame the attack on critics of Trump and his movement who have referred to them as "fascist."
