'Chronic distrust': Trump's lawyers are reportedly turning on each other out of paranoia

For months former President Donald Trump called on his "inner sanctum" to suss out who might rat and also preemptively manufacture opposition research as a measure to sully potential betrayers who might take a plea in exchange for testifying against him, according to a Rolling Stone report.

Relying on on multiple sources, the story claims that Trump's "inner sanctum" have been busy since the summer trying to "ascertain which imperiled Trump allies have been inching toward cutting deals."

So far, the "fact-finding" missions have failed at satisfying Trump's "demands to know who is preparing to snitch."

To offset Trump's ratting misgivings, Rolling Stone learned from sources that his attorneys have been consistently offering their client "threat and [potential] damage assessments" about those who floated in his orbit that might flip and what they might cough up."

Some of the unknowns are no longer since Sidney Powell, Kenneth Chesebro, Jenna Ellis and now former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows — have all pleaded guilty in jail-less deals.

The same team has also been burrowing on potential turncoats by "digging into troves of past communications and private documents" involved in Trump's co-defendants and setting crosshairs on a number of them to "unearth materials that Trump attorneys could use to undermine the credibility of the would-be witnesses," according to sources who spoke to Rolling Stone.

Trump is battling fronts simultaneously in four jurisdictions — New York City, Miami, the District of Columbia, and Atlanta — all pertaining to paying hush money to a porn star, hoarding classified documents at Mar-a-Lago, attempting to overturn the 2020 election, and gathering a massive criminal enterprise to eke out a victory in the state of Georgia.

The current GOP front-runner vying for the White House in the 2024 presidential election has pleaded not guilty and has been fighting tooth and nail in court to buy time and beat back the accusations, and it's been speculated to be able to win the job and pardon himself.

The publication also found that Trump's legal team are dealing with "chronic distrust and petty feuds in their own ranks".

The paranoia amongst the team of attorneys and experts, based on two sources Rolling Stone spoke to, has spun out of control with some spindling rumor and speculation this year about which attorneys might be cozying up to both federal as well as Georgia's prosecutors.
