Former President Donald Trump raged against the Lincoln Project in a rant posted to his Truth Social platform on Friday, demanding that its leaders face criminal charges.
"The Perverts and Misfits of the Lincoln Project have (barely!) gotten together again after their disgusting scandal, and pieced together some ads," wrote Trump. "They are running on fumes. Were they ever prosecuted for their crimes? Are their donors under investigation? Check it out!"
The Lincoln Project is a political group founded by disaffected former Republican strategists, dedicated to defeating Trump specifically and far-right Republicans generally.
Trump is likely referring to John Weaver, a former Lincoln Project co-founder who resigned in disgrace in 2021 after a number of people came forward to accuse him of online sexual harassment. None of the current leadership has been accused of misconduct, although some have alleged that they were aware of Weaver's misconduct earlier than it was made public.

Trump's post lashing out at the Lincoln Project comes after the group put out a blitz of new ads overnight.
One ad mocks Trump for his Mar-a-Lago Espionage Act indictment, stating, "The rats are everywhere, Donald. And you have no one to blame but yourself. Think hard and long about who you can trust - chances are they've already turned on you." Another lauded a number of reporters for their critical coverage of Trump's arraignment. And yet another touted an interview between Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) and Fox News' Sean Hannity, in which Newsom praised President Joe Biden's record.
