A new Reuters/Ipsos poll revealed the majority of Americans blame President Donald Trump for the government shutdown.
Americans were polled between Dec. 20 and January 2 on their political attitudes. An average of 50 percent of American voters blame Trump while 32 percent blame Democrats. However, Reuters broke down how the numbers changed over time and blame for Trump increased while blame for Democrats declined.
A shocking statistic revealed Republicans in Congress are skirting a lot of blame. That could change Thursday when Democrats are expected to pass the spending bill the House refused to pass in the past several weeks. After Democrats pass the legislation it moves to the Senate, where Republicans have said they won't even bring it to the floor. If the Senate refuses to vote, it could put the onus on the GOP.
