Trump-loving Florida gubernatorial candidate headlines rally with anti-gay pundit who insulted Pulse shooting victims

A GOP gubernatorial candidate in Florida appeared at a Miami rally with a notoriously homophobic pundit — a month after generating headlines for saying his black Democrat opponent is going to "monkey up" the state.

The Miami New-Times reported that candidate Ron DeSantis shared the stage at the Black Professionals Summit in Miami on Friday with anti-gay GOP strategist Raynard Jackson.

In the past, Jackson caused a stir when he claimed the gay community was using the Pulse nightclub massacre in 2016 to promote the "radical homosexual agenda."

New-Times reporter Jerry Iannelli noted that this is far from the first time DeSantis has made waves for his controversial views or associates.

Along with his comment about Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum (which the Trump-loving GOP nominee insisted was not racist), DeSantis has on numerous occasions been "accidentally" racist.

He once referred to New York congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as "this girl" and "whatever she is," and has shared stages with former Breitbart executive and Trump White House aide Steve Bannon and his onetime protege Milo Yiannopoulos.
