President Donald Trump was asked in the Oval Office on Thursday whether Rep. Max Miller (R-OH) should end his campaign, and he dodged the question.
"Do you believe Max Miller should withdraw?" a reporter asked him. To which he responded, "I’m not going to get involved in that. It's a very sad situation."
Miller, who represents a district south of Cleveland, has been accused of horrifically abusing his ex-wife and young daughter, to the point of serious injury. He denies all allegations, claims he was actually targeted by abuse in the relationship himself, and has refused calls from within his own party to step aside.
A CNN reporter earlier this week revealed that Trump's allies have been urging him from behind the scenes to speak out on the issue and persuade Miller to exit the race.
