Trump may have just lost another key Republican vote for his Fed nominee

President Donald Trump may have just lost another Republican vote for his nominee for the Federal Reserve.

Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) told Washington Post reporter Seung Min Kim that she's not a big supporter of Stephen Moore.

“I’m not enthused about what he has said in various articles," she reportedly said. "I think it’s ridiculous.”

Moore has faced a huge backlash after the president nominated him. He was outed for being a deadbeat dad who refused to pay child support until the court attempted to repossess his Virginia home and he had tens of thousands in unpaid taxes. Last week, Moore was outed for calling it is a "travesty" that women "feel free" to play sports with men.

When it comes to his economic policies, the details are even worse. Moore has argued that the United States economy should return to the gold standard, pegging the dollar to the value of gold. He claimed the gold standard is “a lot better than what we have now.”
