CNN and other media giants cite SEAL Team 6 argument in brief seeking audio of Trump trial

A coalition of media organizations including The Associated Press and CNN argued in a court filing this Tuesday that a federal court should "at a minimum, provide live streaming audio" of Donald Trump's upcoming election interference trial, The Messenger reported.

The media group pointed to the recent live broadcast from the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals hearing in regards to the case, where Trump argued that he is protected by presidential immunity. The argument involved suggested that a president might be able to escape liability for ordering a hit of their political enemy if they used an official channel such as SEAL Team 6 to do it.

Streaming the hearing live was "to the benefit of the public and the court itself, and without objection from the Government," the media consortium's filing argued.

Trump has been charged with four felonies in the case, to which he has pleaded not guilty.
