Trump doubles down on mocking Nikki Haley's husband
February 13, 2024
Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday morning doubled down on his strategy of mocking GOP rival Nikki Haley's husband, who is currently on military duty in Africa as a major with the South Carolina Army National Guard.
Over the weekend, Trump drew criticism from Haley and others for sarcastically questioning why husband Michael Haley wasn't out with her on the campaign trail when he knew full well that Haley was overseas serving his country.
Trump doubled down on this strategy in a Truth Social post that mocked Haley's "crashing" presidential campaign.
"Tricky Nikki is CRASHING in the Polls," wrote Trump. "She is 15 points down to Crooked Joe Biden, and I’m crushing him in all Polls. She’s got no reason to make it to the South Carolina Primary. The other day, she had almost no people attend her “rally” (We had thousands and thousands who couldn’t even get into the large arena), an embarrassment to her wonderful husband, in Africa. I think he should come back home to help save her dying campaign."

As Trump has mocked Haley's husband, the former United Nations ambassador has ramped up her own attacks on Trump, and she shredded him for attacking her husband while not having any history of military service of his own.
"The closest he's come to harm's way is a golf ball hitting him and on a golf cart," she said during a recent interview on Fox News.
