President Donald Trump attacked former President Barack Obama on Truth Social Saturday night at 11:42 PM Eastern, after Obama rallied in Detroit for Michigan’s Democratic U.S. Senate nominee, Abdul El-Sayed.
“Obama was a grossly incompetent President!” Trump wrote. “He paid off Iran with $Billions, and gave them a road to a Nuclear Weapon.”
Trump then mocked Obama’s record on the campaign trail: “He said that Crooked Hillary Clinton was going to WIN, he campaigned hard for her, and she lost in all directions and ways. He then campaigned full out for Kamala, and likewise, she lost.”
Then he turned on El-Sayed, a physician and epidemiologist who used to run Detroit’s health department.
“Now he’s campaigning for a Muslim Brotherhood Jihadist, who hates Jews and Blacks and AMERICANS and TRUMP, and he is going to lose, also,” Trump wrote. “He’s a Fake Doctor, who runs what is considered to be the WORST CLINIC IN AMERICA.”
Trump offered no evidence for any of those claims.
The president went on to tout his own record in the state, writing that he “won Michigan, BIG,” and has “brought back the Car Industry, the Air Force Base, and everything else.”
“Michigan doesn’t want an arrogant, Open Borders, Fake Doctor, Jihadist, whose reputation will only get worse as more information is revealed - And there’s plenty,” Trump wrote. “VOTE FOR MIKE ROGERS! He will never let you down!”
Rogers, a former GOP congressman, is running against El-Sayed for the seat left open by the retirement of Democratic Sen. Gary Peters.
At Saturday’s rally, Obama also campaigned for Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, the Democratic nominee for governor.
