Trump says he’ll put drug dealers to death when asked about his parenting style
When asked about his parenting style Thursday, former President Donald Trump launched into an eight-minute rant that culminated with him suggesting the United States put drug dealers to death.
Trump appeared occasionally confused when answering questions before a friendly crowd at the Detroit Economics Club on Thursday.
The interview consisted of softball questions like "How do you do it all?" and what advice he'd give to himself, a 25-year-old. But it was the question about fatherhood that sent Trump spiraling the most.
Trump, who is in his third marriage and has five children, was asked about his parenting style by John Rakolta Jr. In response, he rambled for several minutes — before settling on putting drug dealers to death.

Rakolta, a former Trump ambassador, began his Q&A by discussing Trump's energy before pivoting to the incredible children Trump has raised.
Trump began by saying that he was lucky that he had "smart children" but warned others may not.
"But you'll love them just the same," Trump claimed.
He explained that he always told his children, "No drugs, no alcohol, no smoking." Though just last month, Trump bragged that he "saved Flavored Vaping" in 2019 and that he'd do so again as president.
Trump pivoted in his comments about parenting to his relationship with China's President Xi Jinping, who was going to "give the death penalty to anyone sending fentanyl into this country."
Trump claimed that countries that have the death penalty don't have drug problems and went on to ramble about "dilettantes" who want positions on Blue Ribbon commissions the president started.
"Maybe it's too much for the American people to go with, but I will say this the only countries that solve their drug problem — China; I went to President Xi, I asked him 'Do you have a drug problem?' 'No, no, no.'"
China rarely puts out accurate information on the state of its nation, but even in 2023, it revealed there were just under 900,000 "registered drug users."
