President Donald Trump spoke for a little under an hour on Monday morning about the ongoing trade negotiations with China, the costs of pharmaceuticals, and other matters that left some viewers with many questions.
One professor addressed Trump's claim on Obamacare: “I made it work. I could have let it die, but I chose to make it work.”
They posted a screen capture of the late Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) giving the deciding vote to stop the repeal of the Affordable Care Act in Aug. 2017.
Sports television producer Joe DiGiacomo responded by trashing Trump using a clown emoji and saying Trump "takes credit for John McCain saving the ACA in 2017. What a pathetic human being spitting on the grave of one of the best senators in our history."
The media monitoring group Patriot Takes also posted a fact-check, "No, Trump tried to kill Obamacare and John McCain saved it."
Advisor to Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Faiz Shakir, brought up Trump's discussion about "Big Pharma" and high drug prices in the United States. Trump said that a friend told him about the U.S. paying higher for drugs than other countries. Learning of the problem, Trump said he intends to do something about it.

"Some of you may have thought that Trump wanted lower drug prices for Americans. Wrong. He wants higher drug prices for Europeans and others — and higher profits for drug companies," wrote Shakir on X.
When Trump pointed to the "friend," he described him as a "businessman" who told him about the "fat shot drug" being significantly cheaper in Europe than the U.S. Trump said that the friend was a "very, very, very top guy" who is also "highly neurotic" and "brilliant."
Moms Demand Action founder Shannon Watts asked, "Does his name rhyme with Treelon Dusk?"
"Is he saying Elon takes Ozempic?" asked Patriot Takes.
"That Gay Guy Candle Co.," a liberal scented candle company known for trolling conservatives on X, asked, "Is the friend on our screen?"
Daily Beast columnist Julia Davis asked if the friend was "John Barron." It's a name that Trump frequently used as an alias when speaking to the press.
More Perfect Union senior director Josh Miller-Lewis posted, "Trump's executive order isn't designed to lower drug prices in America. It's designed to raise prices in other countries and boost pharma profits."
Trump told the press on drug prices, "We're getting them down 60, 70, 80, 90%. But actually, more than that, if you think about it in a way mathematically."
Tahra Hoops, director of economic analysis at the Progressive Chamber, keyed in on Trump's comment, saying, "I don't think we have thought about anything mathematically this entire admin."
"Real stable genius?" quipped content creator Mike S. Kim.
"Trump has rapidly advancing dementia, and I'm really thankful for that. Could you imagine if he had the kind of acumen he possessed back in the 1980s? So yeah, I'll enjoy the day now," said historian Daniel B. Kurz.
