Trump proclaims Dem lost primary to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez because he wasn't nice enough to him

President Donald Trump tweeted Tuesday night that Rep. Joe Crowley lost his Democratic Primary to the more-progressive Latina candidate in the race because Crowley wasn't nice enough to the president.

"Wow! Big Trump Hater Congressman Joe Crowley, who many expected was going to take Nancy Pelosi’s place, just LOST his primary election. In other words, he’s out! That is a big one that nobody saw happening. Perhaps he should have been nicer, and more respectful, to his President!" Trump tweeted.

An avid Bernie Sanders supporter, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez won Tuesday for New York’s 14th District, despite Crowley raising nearly $3 million. Ocasio-Cortez only raised about $600,000.

Trump earlier predicted a "red wave," though it's unclear if he believes this comes from the Crowley race.

"The Democrats are in Turmoil! Open Borders and unchecked Crime a certain way to lose elections. Republicans are for Strong Borders, NO Crime! A BIG NIGHT!" he tweeted before also tweeting out a "red-wave" meme.
