Trump is raising buckets of cash ahead of his second impeachment

Campaign finance reports reveal that former President Donald Trump's super PAC raised over $30 million ahead of his second impeachment trial.

According to CNN.com, "Sunday's filings offer a snapshot of the continued financial backing from Trump's loyal supporter base. He formed Save America shortly after losing the election last November. Even as his legal team's claims of fraud were tossed out in courts around the country, Trump aggressively sought new donations, imploring his contributors to help fund his 'election defense.'"

Trump has another week to prepare for his impeachment trial, but according to the announcement of a new legal team, they're ready to go.

Trump can use the funds in his super PAC to fund any post-presidency political activity as well as his travel or staff. There is frequently a concern that such leadership PACs can become a political slush fund, so the disbursements at the next filing period will reveal whether or not Trump is in compliance.
