Trump roasted for erupting at a reporter over his rallies: 'Projection at its finest'

President Donald Trump blew up at a reporter from Reuters on Thursday afternoon for asking him why he was abruptly canceling some of his rallies for battleground Senate races in red states — prompting him to insult the reporter's physical appearance.

"You are a sick guy," said Trump. "Look at this guy. You’re way out of shape. You are disgusting! Put yourself in shape! You look like hell."

This reaction from the president triggered a round of mockery and scorn from commenters on social media.

"Trump telling someone they look like hell while standing there looking like a microwaved pumpkin is absolutely hilarious," wrote Alex Cole of Newsitics.

"Trump is fat. He’s sweating. His tanner is running down his face. And literally can’t take the easiest softball question," wrote political strategist Sawyer Hackett. "Projection at its finest."

"Wow. Like Piggy-in-chief has any room to criticize other people’s weight or looks," wrote political commentator "Polly Sigh."
