One of Jeffrey Epstein's earliest accusers was visibly astonished live on CNN when she heard President Donald Trump's reaction to the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
Alicia Arden may have been the very first victim to file a police report, back in 1997, against the late sex offender, but Santa Monica, California, police don't appear to have pursued her allegations, and she noted the irony that the former English prince was arrested in connection with his relationship to Epstein but so far no one has in the United States.
"No one has been arrestedhere in, in the U.S. yet thatwas connected with the files orin the files, and I have beenreading some people in the the paper, they're losing theirjobs, they, they are on theverge of being arrested I hope," Arden told "CNN News Central." "No one has been arrested yethere in the U.S., only the U.K., so yes, I would like to see somemore activity of high-profile men that are in thefiles. They need to be arrestedlike Andrew was yesterday in theU.K., so it needs to take place inthe U.S."
Host Sara Sidner then played a video clip of Trump, whose name appears as many as a million times in the Epstein files, aboard Air Force One expressing sympathy for the ex-royal's arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
"I think it's a shame, I thinkit's very sad," Trump said. "I think it's sobad for the royal family. It's avery, very sad to me. It's avery sad thing. It's reallyinteresting because nobody usedto speak about Epstein when hewas alive, but now they speak ... but I'm the one that can talkabout it because I've beentotally exonerated."
Arden's jaw dropped as she listened to the president's statements, and Sidner asked for her reaction.
"Well, I think it's a shamethat the president is sayingthat," Arden said, "because, I mean, Andrewwas allegedly, you know, hurtingyoung girls or victims, andhe's in the files, and so I,you know, I wish that Virginia Giuffre was alive. Imet her, she would be so happyand relieved as to what istaking place with Andrew beingarrested yesterday in the U.K.She would be so happy and sorelieved."
"I really amunhappy that he saidthat," Arden added, "because I think Andrew isthe first one that is, it's goodnews that he was arrestedyesterday, and more to come, of pedophiles that arepotentially already released inthe files, and they need to bearrested here and in the U.K.So I don't know why he would beshocked at that. It'sreally frightening to me, I mean,I have goosebumps. It'sfrightening."
