Trump refuses to release his tax returns because ‘he might end up in an audit’: Cohen

Michael Cohen testified Wednesday to the House Oversight Committee and at one point, Congressman Jimmy Gomez (D-CA), who sits on the House Ways and Means Committee, raised the possibility that he will request Trump’s tax returns.

Cohen testified to Gomez and the Committee that Trump didn't want to release his tax returns because "he might end up in an audit."

Cohen also said he doesn’t know whether Trump has actually been under audit, as Trump has claimed many times before the 2016 election, and after he was elected.

“I presume he is not under audit,” Cohen said to congressional members Wednesday under oath.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez also grilled Cohen on a Trump tax-related question, but Cohen was unable to provide any specific answers to her question.
