Retired fighter pilot Amy McGrath added her name to the list of former military personnel who aren't happy about Fox News weekend host Pete Hegseth as the secretary of defense. But more, she feared the campaign that Hegseth would deploy to bring down his opposition.
Speaking to a panel of former soldiers, MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace asked how military men and women would view former generals being court-martialed to enact Donald Trump's revenge.
"It would rip apart the fabric of our military," warned McGrath, who ran unsuccessfully for the Senate in 2020 against Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY).

"Now you're looking at anybody who has dissent; you're going to prosecute them?" she asked. "You're going to take people who have served their entire life in an apolitical way, wearing the uniform, swearing an oath to the Constitution to put their best foot forward in defense of the country, and then when they don't go along with what Donald Trump says or wants, you're going to prosecute them?"
She said it's like having a "purity test for high-ranking officers."
"That's going to make everybody up and down the chain of command believe that the people that are in charge of them, are they going to be loyal to the Constitution?" McGrath asked. "Are they going to be loyal to their oath? Or are you just going to be loyal to Donald Trump? This is a real problem."
