Trump ridiculed for bizarre 'HOLD THE DATE!' July 4th DC celebration announcement -- then making it all about himself

President Donald Trump announced  Sunday morning that the government would he holding a July 4th celebration in Washington D.C. -- as it does every year -- with a bizarre "Hold the date!" proclamation and managed to make it all about himself.

Taking to Twitter, the president wrote: "HOLD THE DATE! We will be having one of the biggest gatherings in the history of Washington, D.C., on July 4th. It will be called “A Salute To America” and will be held at the Lincoln Memorial. Major fireworks display, entertainment and an address by your favorite President, me!"

As might be expected, multiple critics of the president noted that July 4th is a already a well-known day of patriotic celebration.
