During a joint press availability with Mohammed bin Salman, Donald Trump smeared the murdered Washington Post contributor Jamal Khashoggi when a reporter attempted to grill the Saudi prince.
Trump snapped at ABC reporter Mary K. Bruce after she asked the price about the assassination of the journalist on the leader's watch, as well as how he thinks 9/11 families are accepting his visit to the Oval Office.
That initially led Trump to accuse her of being “Fake News,” a common response when he is asked a question he doesn’t like, before defending the Saudi despot.
Referencing the Khashoggi question, Trump snapped, “As this gentleman is concerned, he's done a phenomenal job. You're mentioning somebody who was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about, whether you like him or didn't like him, things happened, but he knew nothing about it.”
“And we can leave it at that,” he demanded. “You don't have to embarrass our guests by asking a question like that.”
