Trump says grocery stores will 'work along' with federal workers to give them free groceries during shutdown

President Donald Trump on Thursday suggested that grocery stores are extending credit to federal employees facing economic crisis due to his shutdown.
In statements from the White House that will keep fact-checkers busy, Trump defended comments by Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross.
Trump said that banks are "working along" with federal workers who are unable to meet mortgage payments.
"That's what happens at a time like this, they know the people, they've been working with them for years, and they work along. The grocery stores work along," Trump claimed.
