The View mocks Trump fans buying 'tacky sneakers': 'Same people who complain about gas'

"The View" co-host Joy Behar mocked Donald Trump's fans for shelling out $400 for his sneakers while complaining about gas prices.
The former president unveiled shiny gold sneakers with "45" emblazoned on the side and uppers that resemble American flags, and panelists on "The View" found them ridiculous-looking and overpriced.
"The other thing about it, these sneakers, for example, these people buying them, how much are they?" Behar said, "That's a complete — these are the same people who complain gas is too high, and they have money for these tacky sneakers?"
A surge in gasoline prices could cost President Joe Biden a shot at re-election, according to a recent Moody's analysis, which predicts gas prices to rise from about $3 per gallon to about $3.50 by Election Day.
"Let them buy what they want," said host Whoopi Goldberg. "They're running down the street because they think they got a good hour run to do, and it starts coming off their feet because it falls apart like a $2 you know..."
"Someone I know said I'll buy it because it will be worth money down the line, maybe 100 years or so," Behar said. "But even Hitlerian stuff doesn't sell."

All 1,000 of the pairs of sneakers have reportedly sold out already, but Trump fans might have to wait months for them to ship — and the company selling them did not rule out the possibility of additional delays.
"Trump Sneakers are expected to start shipping July 2024 for the gold High-Tops, and the Potus 45 White Knit & Red Wave Knit are expected to ship in August 2024," a statement on the website said.
"Shipping and delivery dates are estimates only and cannot be guaranteed. We are not liable for any delays in shipments," the fine print noted.
"The Sneaker(s) are made to order," the website added. "When you checkout you will be able to order any size that you want, meaning there is no chance a size can sell out unless the whole collection sells out. The images shown are for illustration purposes only and may not be an exact representation of the product."
