Trump still planning to deliver State of the Union address next week despite Pelosi: Fox News

The standoff over funding for President Donald Trump's wall continued into its 32nd day Tuesday.

Citing security concerns, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi asked the president to delay his State of the Union address until the government shutdown is resolved.

On Tuesday, Fox News reported that Trump plans to present his speech next week.

"Sources are telling us the White House delivered a letter to the sergeant of arms," said reporter Eric Shawn.

"That letter requesting a walk-through as they plan to go ahead with that speech next Tuesday. This after how speaker Nancy Pelosi asked the president to delay the address because of government shutdown security concerns," he said.

"The president is throwing down the gauntlet to the speaker," he continued.
