Trump supporter crosses state line to drive 'Build the Wall' float past New Zealand massacre mourners

A Trump supporter drove from Michigan to Ohio to drive his homemade "Build the Wall" float past a New Zealand mosque massacre vigil.

WOIO reported that an interfaith vigil at Cleveland City Hall was interrupted Friday when Michigan resident Robert Cortis drove by in his "Trump Unity Bridge" float blaring music. He then took a lap back around and played "God Bless America."

Cortis told the news station that he'd been visiting the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame when he drove by the vigil.

According to the report, the religious speakers who were on stage when the Michigan man drove by with the float stayed on script as "mourners looked on in disbelief."

Cortis has made many appearances with his "Unity Bridge" and other pro-Trump auto accouterments since Donald Trump was on the campaign trail.

In September 2016, PR professional Brent Snavely tweeted a photo of Cortis' "Trumpmobile," which he claimed took 25 hours to build.

In an October 2018 interview, Cortis claimed he wanted to "unite people on positive messages and make America a better place." He also said he intended to travel to all 50 states with the float.

In an August 2018 Facebook post, a user shared a photo of Cortis and Donald Trump, Jr. standing on the float at the headquarters of the La Quinta, California Republican Party.
