Trump supporter pepper sprays voter at Florida polling location

A fight broke out at a polling place in Jupiter, Florida, WPBF reports. What started as an argument between a voter and a campaign volunteer outside the Jupiter Community Center quickly escalated on Tuesday afternoon.

"Campaign people were approaching people walking into the building, I don’t know if he got too close to her or not," voter Dave Matthews told the outlet.

Donna Tatlici was handing Trump campaign material when Tom Garrecht, a Clinton supporter approached her.

According to Garrecht's account, he was leaving the polls when he heard "[Tatlici] talking to somebody else and says, ‘That’s a little man. Yeah. That’s a little man,’ and a derogatory term that I won't repeat on TV."

Garrecht reportedly then charged at Tatlici who sprayed him with mace. She said, "He then threw me down and started punching me."

Tatlici also shared that, before the altercation escalated, Garrecht approached her and shouted, "I don’t need anyone to tell me who to vote for." She said she told him that she was just there to provide information, according to the Palm Beach Post.

There have been various similar issues at polling places across the country on Tuesday, as tension has built up over the last year among voters across the country — from the Trump supporters, to the Clinton followers, to anyone in between.

Garrecht said, "They said they’re probably going to charge me with assault, which is absurd, since she sprayed me first."

According to Florida law, no person or organization can engage in "Electioneering" — oral, written, or printed pushes to persuade voters to support a particular candidate — within 100 feet of a polling place.

Tatlici had reportedly been volunteering at the Jupiter Community Center during early voting, and providing information to Trump supporters on down-ballot races. She was reportedly outside of the 100-foot boundary.
