The American Legion lost a member last week, as Vietnam veteran Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) passed away from brain cancer.
As it happens, this week is also the group's convention in Minneapolis. So CNN sent a reporter to talk to them about Trump's treatment of McCain.
While many of them told CNN that McCain was "one of the greatest heroes America has ever seen," they also mostly support Trump.
"It hurts," said Glenn Whitaker of Trump's repeated snubs of McCain. "Because we are family."
Several of the people interviewed said they were emotionally pained by how Trump treated McCain.
Jerry Tarquinio, a Vietnam veteran, voted for Trump but would push Trump on the subject if he could.
"I would tell him he was very disrespectful for that and I don't agree with it," Tarquinio said.
