Trump 'explicitly' asks Supreme Court to 'somehow prevent' upcoming sentencing: reporter

Donald Trump Sunday made it clear that he wants the Supreme Court to intervene in the former president's upcoming sentencing for 34 criminal convictions for business records fraud in New York.

Trump over the weekend took to his own social media site, Truth Social, to lash out at the upcoming sentencing in July. He could face jail time.

"The 'Sentencing' for not having done anything wrong will be, conveniently for the Fascists, 4 days before the Republican National Convention," Trump complained before claiming the entire judicial system was rigged against him.

"A Radical Left Soros backed D.A., who ran on a platform of 'I will get Trump,' reporting to an 'Acting' Local Judge, appointed by the Democrats, who is HIGHLY CONFLICTED, will make a decision which will determine the future of our Nation?" he asked. "The United States Supreme Court MUST DECIDE!"

Politico's senior legal affairs reporter, Kyle Cheney, flagged the statement by the ex-president.

"Trump makes it explicit: he wants the US Supreme Court to somehow prevent his sentencing in New York," Cheney wrote.
