Trump again threatens to use a 'national emergency' to build his wall and rants it is his 'absolute right'

President Donald Trump has offered his own opinion on what would constitute a "national emergency" allowing him to build a wall on the southern border without Congressional approval, according to reports from an Oval Office briefing.

"Trump also says the 'threshold' for declaring a national emergency at the border (empowering him to build the wall without congressional approval) is if he cannot make a deal with Congress," according to the Wall Street Journal's Rebecca Ballhaus.

Trump also reportedly claimed it was his "absolute right" to declare an emergency and build the wall.

“I think we might work a deal, and if we don’t, we might go that route," he reportedly said.

If Trump were to declare a national emergency so he could unilaterally begin construction on a border wall experts anticipate an immediate legal challenge.
