President Donald Trump insisted that young people owed him "big" for his role in a deal that allowed TikTok to continue operating in the U.S.
Although the Chinese government has not approved the deal, Trump recently signed an executive order allowing a joint venture led by billionaire Larry Ellison to run TikTok.
Trump returned to the TikTok platform on Monday for the first time since 2024 to demand allegiance from its users.
"To all of those young people of TikTok, I saved TikTok, so you owe me big, and now you're looking at me in the Oval Office," the president proclaimed. "And someday one of you are going to be sitting right at this desk and you're going to be doing a great job also."
