President Donald Trump lashed out at a Democratic candidate for Alaska's Senate seat on Sunday as his Department of Justice turns up the heat on the race.
Last week, reports indicated that Democratic candidate Mary Peltola's campaign was involved in getting Daniel J. Sullivan on the ballot, which also includes Republican incumbent Daniel S. Sullivan. The move sparked swift outrage from the White House, which has long accused Democrats of misdeeds in the race. The Department of Justice has also opened an investigation into the matter, and has sent out dozens of subpoenas, according to reports.
Trump claimed, without evidence, in a furious post on Truth Social that Daniel J. Sullivan had "disappeared" from the race.
"The Fake Daniel J. Sullivan, Jr., has DISAPPEARED! Nobody can find him, including Law Enforcement," Trump wrote. "He knows that he committed a Criminal Act, but he also knows that there are those around him who, in a certain way, were far worse, like Lawyer Marc Elias, and Liberal Radical Left Activist 'Lawyer' Norm Eisen."
"Others that are really bad, and corrupt, in so many ways, include Political Activists and Lowlives, Reid Hoffman, and Neville Roy Singham," Trump added. "These are CRIMINALS who totally abuse the Laws of our Land, and are destructive to our Country at levels never thought possible before."
Last week, reports indicated that Daniel J. Sullivan had left his hometown just ahead of the midterm elections. CBS News also found no indication that Sullivan continued campaigning in Alaska after he left.
