A Colorado man who voted for President Donald Trump in three different elections is not a fan of letting X owner Elon Musk unilaterally shut down entire government departments.
In an interview with CNN's John King, Trump supporter David Hayes explained why he didn't trust Musk to be an honest broker when it comes to rooting out wasteful government spending.
"Musk keeps saying, 'Well, I found $1 billion of waste here, and Social Security, there's hundreds and hundreds of people that are collecting it that are between 100 years old and 150' -- can you believe any of that crap?" he said. "You can't substantiate it. You can't believe it. So that's a trust issue."

Regardless, Hayes said that he would still vote for Trump if the election were held today, although he did allow that the president was "arrogant" and 'kind of a jerk."
All the same, polling suggests that Hayes' concerns about Musk are not a minority position, as multiple surveys have shown that a majority of voters are concerned that Musk has too much power within the Trump administration.
