President Donald Trump revealed that Walt Nauta, a former co-defendant in a classified documents case, could run to be the next governor of Guam.
At an event with the Navy football team on Tuesday, Trump noted that Nauta and former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer had been appointed to the Naval Academy's Board of Visitors.
"Now, Walt could be, you know, he's thinking about going to Guam someday, and he'll be taking over as governor, but we won't mention that right now, Walt, will we?" Trump quipped.
"He's fantastic," the president added. "He's been with me for a long time, and he's great."

While Trump was out of office, Nauta was allegedly caught on security cameras outside a Mar-a-Lago storage room before and after the National Archives and Records Administration asked for classified documents stored in the room to be returned.
The case was eventually dropped by the Department of Justice after Trump took office.
