Trump whines it's 'unfair' to focus on rally beatings when protesters keep people from hearing me speak

Appearing on ABC's This Week, GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump whined that it is "unfair" to focus on protesters who are beaten at his campaign events when the real problem is they are keeping people from hearing him speak.

With assaults on protesters at Trump events becoming a regular rally feature -- including several on Saturday, one involving Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski -- Trump was asked by host George Stephanopoulos, "What more will you be doing to stop your supporters from acting out like this? "

After deflecting the question several times, Trump finally stated, "These people are very disruptive people, George.  These are not innocent lambs. "

Pressed about the beating in Tucson that was caught on video, Trump made the bizarre claim that the man was wearing a Ku Klux Klan outfit.

"Well, you know, he was wearing -- he or his partner was wearing a Ku Klux Klan outfit," Trump tried to explain. "This happened to be an African-American man who was very -- a person at the rally, who was very, very incensed at the fact that somebody, a protester, would be wearing a Ku Klux Klan outfit."

In the video, the man who was sucker-punched and kicked was wearing a stars and stripes American flag shirt.

After defending campaign manager Lewandowski's altercation on the floor - and calling him "spirited" --  Trump refused to condemn the violence that has marred his events when pressed by the ABC host.

"You appear to be much more upset by the protesters than by the violent response to those protesters," Trump was asked.

"I am very, uh, I wouldn't use the word upset. I think it's very unfair that these really, in many cases, professional, in many cases, sick, protesters can put cars in a road blocking thousands of -- of great Americans from coming to a speech and nobody says anything about that," Trump replied. "It is a very unfair -- it's a very -- let me just tell you, it's a very unfair double standard."
